Position Summary
Blue Water Ear, Nose, and Throat (partnered with FYZICAL® Dizziness and Fall Prevention Centers) is seeking a Medical Receptionist for our office located at the Outer Banks in Nags Head, NC. We provide unwavering advocacy for the health of our community.

Primary Functions and Accountabilities
• Responsible for maintaining the front desk, answering the phone and scheduling any necessary appointments
• Maintains patient information by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information
• Verification of insurance coverage, collect authorizations and co-pays
• Provide office assistance as needed, (e.g. ensuring intake forms are completed, data entry,
inventory of office supplies, etc.)
• Able to assist medical staff in the office as necessary
• Communicates effectively to physicians and other staff with scheduling and patient
messaging
• Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality: familiarity with HIPAA is a must
• Maintains administration by following policies and procedures, reporting any necessary
changes
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Must be able to multi-task effectively; critical time management skills necessary
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Willingness to assess situations and resolve or escalate when needed
• Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies
• Understanding of basic healthcare terminology
• Pleasant phone demeanor: bilingual speaker a plus
Position Requirements
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• EMR systems: 1 year preferred
• Vital signs and/or CPR Certified preferred
• 1 year of relevant office experience; medical office preferred
• Computer skills required: working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and must type 30+wpm
Must pass background check. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
