She chose to open her practice on the Outer Banks to be closer to friends in the area and to the beaches which first attracted her to Eastern North Carolina.  As a lifelong student, Dr. Lait hopes to continue her studies even after she finishes practicing medicine.  She is passionate about health care policy, medical ethics, public policy, and history.  When there is free time, she enjoys cooking, restaurants, traveling NC, US, and abroad.  Most recently, she has succeeded at fishing, but only after catching her own hat.
